On Tuesday, December 6 at 7:30 pm, VCU choral ensembles will bring to life the words of Shakespeare and celebrate his legacy in a few unexpected ways.
Shakespeare wrote "If music be the food of love, play on!" Well, we will be singing on, as our choral ensembles present music by Shakespeare's contemporaries Claudio Monteverdi and Thomas Tallis, selections from Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story, and even vocal jazz settings of the Bard's stunning texts.
And, speaking of food, the ACDA student chapter at VCU will be hosting a post-concert reception!
FOOD and MUSIC! What's not to love? Shakespeare would be proud!
Tickets are free for VCU students with ID an only $7 for non-students when purchased in advance!
Location: Sonia Vlahcevic Concert Hall in the W. E. Singleton Center for the Performing Arts.
